Job Description

Oversees sample taking process and ensures the grading of grain in accordance with statutory requirements 

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented team player to join our silo operations as a Grain Grader Assistant. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the grain sample-taking process and ensuring the grading of grain is carried out in accordance with statutory and company procedures.

You’ll play a vital role in protecting grain quality, supporting logistics, and ensuring that every grain delivered meets our high standards.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification

• Experience in the agriculture sector will be advantageous

• Completion of all relevant grain grading courses through in-service training

• Computer literate with strong administrative background

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Thorough, precise, and accurate in execution

• Clear criminal record

• Traceable references

• Must be committed to adding value to current responsibilities and continuous improvement

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct grain grading in accordance with statutory and VKB procedures

• Oversee and execute grain intake and dispatch administration

• Perform general job-related admin functions

• Handle and resolve grading-related disputes

• Successfully complete all compulsory grain-related training courses

• Support logistical and operational efficiency at the silo

• Able to define and analyse problems quickly and effectively

• Team player – works collaboratively in a high-pressure environment
