Job Description:

The Risk Manager plays a key role in developing and implementing risk management strategies across the VKB Group. This role ensures the identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial and operational risks, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and the cultivation of a risk-aware culture within the organisation.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Law, or a related field
  • Relevant qualifications in risk management or related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial risk management across diverse industries (agriculture, insurance, corporate, finance)
  • At least 3 years in a senior managerial or leadership role
  • Proven experience with compliance, governance, and risk frameworks
  • Proficient in both Afrikaans and English
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Willingness to travel

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement group-wide risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate risk exposure across all departments
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance standards
  • Promote and embed a risk-aware culture across the organisation
  • Provide guidance and support to executive management on risk-related matters
  • Prepare detailed reports for management and Board committee
