VKB Group is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Fleet Manager to take our fleet department to the next level.
This role goes beyond administration and focuses on strategic fleet management, cost optimisation, and supplier negotiation, while ensuring that day-to-day fleet operations run smoothly and compliantly.
Job Description
The purpose of this role is to provide strategic, operational, and commercial leadership to the fleet department by optimising fleet costs, improving utilisation, and ensuring compliance — while overseeing administrative fleet activities to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
What you will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic direction and leadership to the fleet function
- Negotiating vehicle purchases and supplier contracts to optimise costs
- Managing fleet performance, utilisation, and total cost of ownership
- Ensuring legal compliance, licensing, and risk management
- Overseeing fleet administration and supporting operational teams
- Reporting on fleet performance and recommending improvements
Minimum requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 (minimum).
- Diploma/Degree in Transport, Logistics, Supply Chain or similar.
- Proven experience in fleet management or a senior fleet role
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- 5–7 years fleet control operations experience.
- 2–3 years supervisory or managerial experience.
- Ability to analyse data and translate insights into action
- A proactive, solution-driven approach
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
